Samsung Galaxy R Officially Confirmed

Samsung has recently announced their release of yet another Smartphone – the Galaxy R. The phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with the company’s TouchWIZ user interface running over it. It also shows off a 4.19 inch Super Clear LCD touch screen, with WVGA (800×480) pixel resolution.


Other specifications for the Smartphone include: a 1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset; 8GB of internal memory; a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash; Wi-Fi direct; Bluetooth v3.0+HS; Wi-Fi b/g/n; microSD card slot; and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone’s camera is further capable of recording videos at 720p HD resolution.
The Galaxy R has its power supplied from a Li-Ion 1650mAh battery which is supposed to be capable of providing up to 550 hours of powering if the phone is in standby mode. The phone also includes value added features including Samsung Apps, Samsung TouchWiz, etc.
However, the pricing details are not yet available for Galaxy R which is supposed to hit the stores by mid-August.
