HTC Reveals Its First Windows Phone 7 Mango Device

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has just released a brand new Windows Phone device – the Titan. The first unique feature about this phone is that it comes pre loaded with Mango – Windows Phone 7’s latest and greatest avatar.

Previously leaked online as the Eternity, the Titan is HTC’s latest high-end Windows Phone device. As its name suggests, the Titan is indeed one hunk of a device, sporting a huge 4.7” SLCD display. The obvious question, then, might be if Titan is too big for a smartphone. In one word – NO! The phone feels just right in my average sized palm, and slips in well into the pocket. This is largely due to the super sleek 9.9mm profile and an acceptable 160g of weight.
It is a little surprising though, that HTC did not utilize the super sized screen to full effect. The pixel density is paltry 800 x 480, which is a major letdown. Regardless, the display is sharp and vivid at all times.
According to HTC, a key upgrade with this phone is the camera. The 8 megapixel, 28mm-wide rear lens has been improved dramatically, to go along with the 1.3 megapixel VGA lens at the front, which is poised to take full advantage of the all new Skype integration that comes with Mango.
The build quality is stellar, as always. The black painted metal unibody casing dominates the exteriors of the phone, complemented with a slight bit of plastic at the bottom (for the antenna).
