Sony S2 Renamed As Sony Tablet P

According recent reports Sony’s new Android Tablet S2 is now being launched as the Sony Tablet P. Likewise, the Sony S1 is now called as Sony Tablet S. The Sony Tablet P will feature dual 5.5 inch multi-touch displays, and it comes with 512 MB RAM, and 4GB of inbuilt storage.

The tablet is powered by a 1GHz dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and it also includes 2GB SD card, and supports 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Other features for the Sony Tablet P include: 0.3 mega pixel front facing camera; TruBlack display that is LED-lit; infrared built-in remote that enable the users to control their TV or BluRay player; plus a battery that is removable. Further this Honeycomb tablets is PlayStation certified and it is accompanied by the PlayStation Suite.
The pricing details and the exact release date for the tablet is not yet revealed but, according to rumors, the tablet will be available in India in Q4 of this year with a price tag of about Rs. 29,000.

Sony Ericsson Announces Xperia Neo V

Sony Ericsson has recently included another new Android Smartphone to the Xperia range with the introduction of Xperia Neo V. This new smartphone runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 and is powered by a 1GHz processor.

The Xperia Neo V has a 3.7 inch TFT display that is scratch resistant and comes with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The best of the touchscreen display is that it makes use of the company’s Mobile Bravia Engine that further enhances the performance of the screen by noise reduction and boosts the screen contrast. It also has a 5 MP rear camera with 16x digital zoom and is capable of recording HD video in 720p. It is further equipped with a front camera for video calls.
Other specifications include: 512 MB of RAM; Adreno 205 graphics card; and, support for HDMI port. The Xperia Neo V is expected to be released in quarter four of this year and the pricing details are not yet revealed.

LG Introduces New Optical Mouse That Is Also a Scanner

If you go by the looks, LG’s new mouse, the LSM-100 resembles any other mouse that is available in the market today with its 5 buttons and the mouse wheel. Inside, it’s actually a mouse-cum-scanner that can scan pages up to the A3 size.

Samsung Announces 4 New Galaxy Smartphones

Korean manufacturer Samsung has announced recently that it is going to add four new smartphones to its Galaxy range meaning that all the four would be running Android. The new smartphones under the Galaxy range are – Galaxy Y, Galaxy W, Galaxy Y Pro, and Galaxy M Pro.

Samsung Galaxy Y


The Galaxy Y runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered by a 832 MHz processor. Other additions to this smartphone include a 2 mega pixel camera, 3 inch screen with a resolution of 320×240 pixels, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0.

Samsung Galaxy Y Pro

Bangalore Based Company Launches New Android Tablet for the Indian Market

The Indian mobile market is truly bustling with some of the latest Android tablets that don’t really dig a hole in your wallet. Recently, RCOM has introduced the Reliance 3G Tab which is priced at Rs. 12,999 and then there was Bharti Enterprises that unveiled the Beetel Magiq priced at Rs. 9,999.

Now, here is a company based in Bangalore known as Lakshmi Access Communication Systems (LACS) which has launched another Android tablet and the good news is that it is priced at just around Rs. 5,000.
The 7 inches tablet dubbed as the Magnum Pepper Tablet PC will run on Fro Yo Android 2.2 and it is equipped with an 800 MHz processor. There is no exact detailing regarding the screen as whether the touchscreen would be capacitive or resistive and the users need to be updated on that part.
Other specifications for this latest Android tablet include: 256 MB RAM; 2 GB in-built storage; microSD card for expansions up to 32 GB; USB 2.0; and, Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally it has a RJ45 LAN port that is used for wired internet connectivity. The major downside for the tablet could be that it lacks 3G support. However, the company assured that the tablet is 3G dongle compatible.

Nokia Announces Two Low Cost Handsets – The Nokia 100 and Nokia 101

Nokia has added two new low cost mobile phones to its range with the launch of Nokia 100 and Nokia 101. The Nokia 100 has a single SIM card slot while the Nokia 101 comes with dual SIM card slot it also includes an MP3 player.

Both these low-cost phones are based on Series 30 operating system and have an FM radio. The Nokia 101 also supports memory cards up to 16GB thus allowing the users to store thousands of songs. Further, it comes with preloaded games and even has a 3.5mm AV connector so that the users can connect the handset to speakers.
Both the models are equipped with an integrated flash light and they offer extremely good battery life as they offer 6.7 hours of talk time and have 25 days standby time. That’s really cool when compared to most of the handsets available today.

It runs Android Gingerbread 2.3 and has 3.8 inches “ultra” AMOLED display that is, as claimed by LG, supposed to offer double the reflection rate when compared to other standard AMOLED displays. The feature enables the users to view the the screen even in direct sunlight.

The smartphone is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and it also has a feature called Dark UI that absorbs less white light thus saving up to 20-30 percent of the phone’s battery.

Sony Ericsson has unveiled its new Live with Walkman handset – a Walkman device that runs Android Gingerbread 2.3 as its operating system. The new smartphone has been designed with music centric users in mind and additionally includes such features as Facebook integration that allows the users to access their Facebook pages through the smartphone’s phonebook, music player, picture gallery, and calendar. It also includes the Facebook music recommendations feature.

This new Android Smartphone from Sony Ericsson has a 5 mega pixel camera with 8x zoom and auto focus. Further, the camera also has the face detection feature. The Acer Iconia Smart which was announced back in February is expected to hit the stores in September. The smartphone runs on Android Gingerbread and is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor.

Dell Unveils Ultra-Thin LED Monitor – The S2330MX

Dell has recently introduced into the market what is supposed to be the thinnest monitor ever – the new Dell S2330MX which id ideal for home or business use. This sleek and slender monitor comes with LED backlighting technology to save power consumption and it has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

This 23-inch monitor has a response time of 2ms and it comes with DVI and VGA out. There is also a HDMI adapter that enables the users to hook up their new S2330MX to a HDTV for a better viewing experience.
Dell claims that the S2330MX is the thinnest monitor ever. The monitor is now available for ordering on Dell’s official site and the pricing details are not yet available.

The New Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 Available in India from September

The Galaxy Tab 730 is the latest Android smartphone from Samsung that brags a hefty 8.9 inches multitouch display screen with 1280×800 pixel resolution. It runs on the latest version of Android tablets OS, the Honeycomb 3.1 and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. Measuring at just 8.6 millimeters, the Tab 730 is claimed to be the World’s thinnest mobile tablet.

New Rugged Android Smartphone from Motorola Announced

We have recently heard news about Samsung’s launch of its rugged Android smartphone, the Samsung Xcover. Subsequently, Motorola freshly announced a rugged Android smartphone dubbed as Motorola Defy+.

In fact the new handset is the successor to the rugged Motorola Defy. The new smartphone has the same design as its predecessor and it comes with a 1GHz single core processor and runs Android Gingerbread 2.3.4.
Other specifications for the handset include: 3.7-inch touch screen display with 854×480 pixel resolution; 2GB internal storage; microSD card slot; and, a 5 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. The storage capacity is further expandable up to 32 GB.
In addition, the smartphone supports Adobe Flash Player 10 and also includes MotoBlur service. It further boasts a scratch-proof glass and battery is supposed to give a talk time of about 7 hours. The pricing details for the Motorola Defy+ are not yet available.

New Notebook from Acer Likely to Compete with Apple’s MacBook Air

Acer plans to launch a thin and light notebook dubbed as Aspire 3951, which is similar the MacBook Air manufactured by Apple. The Acer Aspire 3951 is 13 mm in thickness and weighs at just 1.4 kg.

The notebook is powered by Intel’s Core i Sandy Bridge processor and it comes with the option of 160 GB solid state drive along with hard drive options of 250 GB and 500 GB. It is also rumored that the notebook will wake from its sleeping mode in just 1.7 seconds.
It is also noticeable that Acer has shrunk the arrow keys on its keyboard to have larger room for the larger right Shift key. The touchpad of the Aspire 3951 is likely to be the Synaptics’ ClickPad .
The standard runtime for the notebook is expected to be of about 6 hours and for connectivity, one has to make use of the HDMI and USB ports and also the memory card reader that are placed at the back unlike other notebooks which sport them rather at the sides. Besides Bluetooth 4.0, the ultrabook also has a webcam that is HD-capable.
The Acer Aspire 3951 is expected to be released in October and the pricing is also thought to be around $700 to $960.

Samsung Announces New Rugged Android Smartphone

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover is the new Android Smartphone added to the Samsung’s Galaxy range. The Xcover which runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread is a rugged smartphone which is water proof and dust proof.

It features a 3.65-inch touch screen display has a protective tempered and scratch resistant glass. It also attains the IP67 standard certification meaning that it will survive under water up to 1 m deep for about half an hour while being dustproof.
Besides the rugged credentials and its IP67 certification, the handset’s other specifications are unknown as of now except that it features a 3.2 mega pixel camera with LED flash, supports HSDPA speeds of up to 7.2Mbps for data connectivity, and boasts Samsung’s custom UI TouchWiz;
Samsung also claims that the LED photo light of the camera can also be used as signal and flash light.
There’s no word as of now on the availability and the pricing of the handset.

New Glasses-Free 3D Laptop Announced from Toshiba

Japanese electronics giant Toshiba recently announced another ultraportable 3D notebook – the Toshiba Qosmio F755 3D, which comes with glasses-free 3D technology. The notebook was earlier showed off at CES this year but Toshiba revealed more details recently.

The notebook features 15.6 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and it can display 3D content without the need for 3D glasses with its auto stereoscopic display technology. Further, it allows the users to display both the 3D and 2D content at the same time on its screen using the latest double-parallax image technology.
The best part seems that the notebook can convert the existing DVD 2D or Blu-ray content with just one click allowing the users to watch it in 3D. It comes equipped with Intel Core i7 processor, together with NVIDIA GeForce 540M graphics and also includes a 750GB hard disk drive, 6GB of RAM, and Blu-ray.
The Toshiba Qosmio F755 3D also supports HDMI output for streaming content on to big screens and includes Harman Kardon speakers and Dolby audio. The notebook will be available from mid-August and it is priced at $1,699.99.

Reliance Communications Launches India’s Cheapest 3G Android Tablet

India’s premier communications provider Reliance Communication has launched the first Android tablet, the Reliance 3G Tab, which is priced at Rs. 12,999. As the name suggests, the tablet will support 3G network.

The tablet runs Android 2.3 and it features a glossy 7 inch capacitive touch screen. Other specifications include: 512 MB RAM; 2.0 mega pixel rear and front cameras; Wi-Fi; Bluetooth; a microSD card slot for external storage; support for push email; voice calling; video recording; Mobile TV; and, built-in GPS.
In addition to these and other Android features such as offering support for viewing and editing documents on the go, RCom is also offering a 4 GB SD card free to the users which they can further upgrade up to 32 GB.
Initially, the Reliance 3G Tab which is accompanied with highly discounted 3G plans will be available to users in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. However, the company is all set to launch the tablet in the other circles by the end of this week.

World renowned pens and apparels manufacturer Pierre Cardin entered into the world tablet market with its launch of an Android tablet that is expected to be available all over the world in the coming months.


The 7-inch Android tablet – the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 which is available in the UK right now has a capacitive touch screen with 800×480 pixel resolution. It is equipped with Samsung Cortex-A8 single core processor that runs at 1 GHz to support the tablet’s features.
Other specifications for the tablet include: 512 MB RAM; Wi-Fi; Flash 10.1; and, 4 GB internal storage. As the 4 GB of internal storages is considered to be undersized, the tablet has a micro SD card slot through which the storage capacity can be extended up to 16 GB. It also offers support for 3G networks as it is accompanied by an additional 3G USB modem.
The major downside of the tablet is that it runs on Android 2.2 Froyo that is a non-tablet OS. The tablet comes cocooned in a classy leather folder that enhances the tablets look while also protecting the device.
Even though the exact launch date is not revealed, the Pierre Cardin PC-7006 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 20,000 (approx) in India.
