HP presents Slate 2, a Tablet with a resolution of 1024 x 600, 8.9 inch N-Trig LCD multi touch screen display panel with a Bluetooth stylus pen. Powered by fast Intel Atom Oak Trail Z670 1.5 GHz processor, 2GB RAM supporting 32 bit Professional version of Windows 7, HP slate 2 has 64GB mSATA SSD drive.
It also comes in the 32GB option. Swype keyboard applet is pre-installed while you also get a Bluetooth connected Keyboard dock. Integrated with Computrace Pro, security software and a TPM chip you can trace your lost device.
You can even wipe out the data remotely instead of letting it fall into wrong hands. Supports Wi-Fi helping you connect to the Internet at Wi-Fi hotspots as well as 3G connectivity, giving you Internet access on the go.
With dimensions of 9.21 x 5.91 x 0.61 inches weighing 1.52 pounds, HP Slate 2 comes in black and silver colour. It also has a front VGA 0.3MP webcam for video chat and a rear 3MP camera. A 30Wh battery has a usage time of 6 hours.
Meant for heavy computing needs by professionals in hospitals, schools and large companies, HP Slate 2 will be available from November 2011 at a price starting at $699.
