ScanDisk Launches 800GB Enterprise Flash Drives

SanDisk has recently launched two new solid state drives with capacities ranging from 100GB up to a whooping 800GB providing an answer to users who are restrictive with their current size limitations.
SanDisk-800GB-Lightning-SSD
The Lightning SSD drives include six new drives: three SLC (single-level cell) flash drives with capacities of 100GB, 200GB and 400GB; and three MLC (multi-level cell) flash drives with capacities 200GB, 400GB and 800GB.
These high-capacity SSDs are also available in a 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch standard form factor and they have been designed to integrate seamlessly into existing SAS enterprise storage and server systems without the need for the users to make any changes to their existing applications.
They SSDs offer end-to-end data protection and reliability and their features include extended ECC, background Patrol Read and Memory Reclaim, triple-redundant ECC protected metadata, and support for the T10 Data Integrity Field standard.
These enterprise-class SSDs are already integrated into HP Qualified storage drives and are available to users on HP ProLiant servers. We do not have any pricing information for the drives but they are expected to be too much to consider as an alternative choice to replace the 1TB drive.
