Sony Ericsson Launches Xperia Ray and Xperia Active Android Smartphones

Sony Ericsson announced its two new Android Smartphones for its Xperia line, Xperia Ray and the Xperia Active, at the ongoing Communic Asia 2011. Both the models will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and are powered by 1GHz processor. They will be available soon in markets across Asia Pacific.

The Xperia Ray, features a 3.3 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It has an 8 megapixel camera and HD video functionality. It also has a 4GB micro SD memory card, expandable up to 32GB.

The Xperia Active comes with a 3 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of320 x 480 pixels. Its features include: a 5 megapixel camera with HD capabilities, 2GB memory card and is expandable up to 32GB, and a micro USB connection.
It is designed for the outdoors types as it is dust proof and water resistant up to 30 minutes in about 1m of water. It comes pre-loaded with several sports apps and has a built-in GPS, barometer, compass, and Facebook to keep everyone updated on your progress.
