High-tech giants Samsung and HTC are battling hard to dominate the global smartphone market. And the 4G advancement has fuelled up the battle as Samsung Infuse and HTC Inspire are both based on AT&T’s 4G network. These phones have many common features such as QWERTY keyboard, slim, glossy and impressive design. Let’s compare them to know which one has an edge over the other.
Design
Both, Infuse and Inspire, have candy bar design with beautiful displays. With 0.35 inch thickness, Samsung Infuse is much streamlined as compared to Inspire, which comes with a thickness of 0.46 inch. The dimensions of Infuse are much more taller, wider and slimmer than those of Inspire. Here the Korean giant wins the battle.
Display
Infuse has a huge 4.5 inch touchscreen, it uses the Super AMOLED Plus technology having 16M colors with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Samsung has fully protected its screen with Gorilla Glass. The excellent contrast, brightness and viewing angles of Infuse show you great quality videos and images.
On the other hand, Inspire utilizes the Super LCD touchscreen with 16M colors, which is good, but no match for the Super AMOLED Plus technology. Want a great quality display? Go for Samsung Infuse.
Processor
Samsung Infuse sports 1.2 GHz Cortex A8, while HTC Inspire uses 1GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm MSM8255 processor. Though both the handsets perform equally well, Infuse has a bit better specifications.
Infuse has the storage capacity of 16GB, expandable to 32GB, whereas Inspire has 8GB built-in memory, which can be expanded to 32GB with the help of a microSD.
Software
Both the smartphones run on Android 2.2 Froyo, that opens their door to the Android market as well as hundreds of thousands of other applications. Froyo gives them a plus point of playing Adobe Flash in the browser. However, Samsung took the lead by announcing that Infuse will be available preloaded with “Angry Birds,” one of the most popular games.
Camera
They are close competitors, and both handsets sport 8-megapixel camera with LED flash. The disparity is observed in LED flash, where Samsung Infuse is the clear winner with dual camera, whereas HTC Inspire is equipped with only single camera.
The frontal camera is used for video chatting and calling, and rear one for video recording and taking pictures.
Battery life
Samsung has equipped Infuse with much powerful 1750 mAh battery which can withstand about 8 hours of talk time, whereas Inspire comes with Li-Ion 1230 mAH battery type that has the capacity to survive 6 hours of talk time.
Ultimate winner
Clearly, Samsung Infuse dominates Inspire in all the aspects, however, price plays a key role in enticing the customers. HTC Inspire, which is reasonably priced at $99.99, can evaporate the price-sensitive customers’ desire for Samsung Infuse that costs $199.
