Vodafone to Launch Budget Android ‘Smart’phone in India

Vodafone India is all set to launch an Android powered smartphone dubbed as “Smart” in the Indian market and the good news is that this one too would be falling under the low-cost category as it is prices at 7000 INR approx.

The smartphone, which is manufactured by Huawei, is already available in countries like UK and is known there as the Vodafone 858. It will be introduced in India in the month of September.
According to the rumors, the Vodafone Smart will run on Android 2.2 and it is powered by a 528 MHz processor. Other specifications for this cheap Android smartphone include: a 2 mega pixel camera; 2.8 inch QVGA capacitive display; Bluetooth 2.1; HSDPA; and, GPS.
The smartphone will also have easy access to GMail, Google Maps, Google Talk, Instant Messaging and to allow the users to have a complete Android experience, it will also support the many applications of the Android Market.
In addition, the smartphone comes pre-loaded with features including facebook, Twitter, Vodafone Music and Prepay Manager.
